CANON INFORMATION

CHARACTER NAME: Jack Frost
CANON: Rise of the Guardians
HISTORY: Here

STRENGTHS: Fun: He's the guardians of fun for a reason. It's what he lives for. He wants people, kids especially, to have fun and be happy. It's the reason he even became a guardian in the first place, because at the the cost of his life he allowed himself to have fun, to make his sister laugh while getting her out of danger.

Kind: It may seem like Jack only lives for himself at first. That he's rude and doesn't care about the children. But he does and almost every time he's seen with a child, he's nothing but kind to them. And it isn't just to the kids but eventually his fellow guardians, quick to help despite being a neutral party at first when Pitch started his attack. Which also leads to:

Compassionate: Despite how awful Bunnymund had treated him, the first thing he does is get Jamie into believing in the Easter Bunny first. Jack hated that no one believed in him, but that didn't matter when so much was on the line and in the end, that's how he's always been. It also helped he knew first hand what Bunnymund was going through. But that's just how Jack is. Compassionate for others, even at his own expense just like he'd done with his sister.
FLAWS: Anti-social: While it was somewhat of a facade, it was also a way to protect himself. If no one could see him anyway, what was the point of socializing with other spirits who couldn't understand what he was going through? So, he didn't make it much of a point to get to know the others, although it may have benefitted him had he done so. Toothiana, after all, had his memories but she had no idea he didn't remember anything.

Loner: Jack claims to love being in his own, for doing his own thing and not bound of rules and deadlines. And it isn't false, being able to do what he wants, when he wants, allows him to not be restrained by anything but himself. Which is perhaps what cost him getting some clue to his past or even making friends to help cope with what he was going through. His loner tendencies helped him as much as they hindered him.

Sensitive: All of the above leads Jack to also being quite sensitive despite his rebellious attitude in the beginning. He's hurt when Bunny points out no one believes in him and he's easily manipulated into accidentally trading Baby Tooth for his memories by Pitch, using his loneliness and need to be seen again him. When he is finally seen, he almost can't believe it himself and nearly has a meltdown for a hot second when a child hugs him for the first time. He tries to appear put together when he's really not. He's still, ultimately, a lonely and hurt child himself despite the 300 year passage of time.

CANON ABILITIES: Winter Magic - As a Shepherd of Winter, Jack as full control over ice, snow, frost, and the cold, easily freezing anything solid within seconds and even create full slides of ice as the person sliding within is going down. He can also create blizzards and other winter weather patterns. His mere presence can conjure frost and cold, ice and snow as well, along with freezing water as he walks upon it, indoor snowfall, and manifesting images from frosted window panes. The cold doesn't bother him anyway.

Magic Staff - He has a magic staff that is the shepherds crook he had from when he was human. It was thought to be the source of his magic, even by Jack himself, but soon he finds out it was merely a conduit for his power, helping him simply channel the magic that resides within him.

Flight - By talking with the Wind, Jack can easily fly from destination to destination. He essentially rides the wind.

Freerunning/Parkour/Martial Arts - Jack is a capable freerunner and parkour artist, often employing these tactics when jumping and playing and, as seen in the moving, towards fighting the Night Mares and Pitch. His ability to be so agile and quick is what allows him to weave through traffic, trees, and all sorts of locations. Jack also employs the use of the martial art, Kendo. While it's not said when and where he learned this, this is something he adds to his battle style.

AU INFORMATION

AU CHARACTER NAME: Jackson "Jack" Overland
AGE: Appears 18. Physically over 300.
GRADE: Grade 10
AU BACKSTORY: -His backstory prior to falling into the ice will remain as the same in canon, that he lived in the Colonial Era of pre-established Burgess, PA where instead of the Man in the Moon noticing him, it was the Fey.
-One Fey was rather touched by Jack's sacrifice to save his sister from falling into the ice and tried to revive the boy.
-Jack was, instead, turned into a Fey due to the chaotic nature of Feycraft. Or perhaps part-Fey, even they don't know what Jack is anymore. But he is no longer human.
-Jack also slept for 100 years before the revival magic actually kicked in. Once awakened, Jack found himself in the 1780s of Burgess, PA.
-Spends the next couple hundred learning what he missed, getting used to his powers, and moving on from now having outlived his family. He becomes friends with the Fey and their world as well.
-Spends most of his time causing mischief as a way to learn his abilities
-Remains unseen for the most part, but he's not invisible to others. Ordinary people don't exactly know what to do with him, after all.
-This gets him into a bit of trouble though which leads to:
-Present time, the Fey, nicknamed Baby Tooth and who revived him, brought him the letter to the Daybreak Academy.

AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: Jack is not quite as anti-social or lonely like he is in canon mainly because people, not just other spirits, can see him. He's able to make friends, even if he'll outlive them, and form connections that never otherwise did before. This doesn't mean he's not at all sad or even a little lonely because he also remembered his family and he didn't get to see them grow up. He hides this under a smile though and he generally always keeps his eye in the family lineage as a way to hold onto those memories of the first 18 years of his life.

Otherwise, Jack is carefree and wild, going with the flow like the Wind he speaks to and not at all really caring how his powers and presence could effect others. He's still a rebel without a cause because the Fey taught him to be, they were his new family! Which means he often can get himself into trouble and not totally realize the consequences until after the fact. Which is what leads him to being sent to the Academy.

Despite being 18 physically, he's also not very booksmart so he starts school in Grade 10 rather than 12. His education hadn't been that great due to being poor but he at least knows how to read and write and he knows his history because he was there for the last 300 years of it. He doesn't let it get to him though. Or he tries not to, anyway.

RACE: Fey
SECRET SOCIETY: None

POWERS: Jack would have the same powers and abilities as listed in canon. His Winter powers will be nerfed as his power would simply be more ice based than controlling the weather. But he can still talk to the Wind, has the magic staff, and can parkour around.

HOUSING: No preference
